Currently, the cost of photovoltaic power generation in China has dropped by 80%. The wind-power and photovoltaic equipment exported in 2023 have helped other countries reduce carbon emissions by 810 million tons.
Data shows that China continues to push forward its decarbonization efforts. In 2023, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption in China's total energy consumption reached 17.9%. Coal consumption decreased fell to 55.3% from 67.4% in 2013.
Over the years, China has increased the use of clean energy and improved its ecological environment. To date, China's forest stock volume has reached 19.4 billion cubic meters, an increase of 6.5 billion compared to 2005.
By the end of July 2024, China's total installed capacity for wind and solar power generation reached 1.206 billion kilowatts, which is 2.25 times that at the end of 2020. (By Li Zi'ang/China Youth Daily)
